Creating A Marketing Strategy

August 2, 2016 by Ngome

I decided to do this episode because I get the “pick my brain” a lot, but what is more important is providing you with evergreen content. The key to this episode is to take what applies to your specific need and execute accordingly.

In addition, NWM is hoping to become more of a teaching podcast that will address a specific topic each month. For August, we are focusing on strategy. This week the discussion of a marketing strategy provides you with an overview. The following weeks include social media, content, and pricing strategies.

I believe this is probably one of the best breakdowns of marketing that you can ever hear. I hope you enjoy!

Marketing – a set of activities that allow for creation, communication, delivery, and exchange product or services that have value for an audience.

Audience – internal or team members, clients, partnerships, and mass audience.

5 P’s of Marketing:

  • Product (or service)
  • Place
  • Price
  • Promotion
  • People

Apply the 5 P’s in order to:

  • Understand your customer.
  • Create customer value.
  • Build a customer relationship.

Strategy is the action plan you create to gain customer value and achieve profitable customer relationships.

  • Positioning – how do I want to position myself?
  • Differentiation – what makes me different?

Goal>>Strategy>>Tactics
