Consistency: The Key to Strengthening Your Social Media Presence

Top platforms such as Instagram and Facebook enjoy millions of social media traffic, and as such, your brand’s potential is limitless if you utilize these outlets in a successful way. To tap this opportunity, you should work to achieve brand consistency in your marketing activities by ensuring your posts are strategic and clear across all your channels. All of your uploads and shares should be coherent and interconnected in a manner that brings out your core brand message. Since many consumers today use online media to search products, an engaging and exciting social media presence will dictate how your brand performs in terms of sales and conversions. 

Building brand recognition

To be steady in your voice, you must first understand your audience. For example, you cannot address baby boomers the same way you speak to millennials. To achieve this, consider the audience’s age, geographic location, gender, and interests among other aspects. In the same way that you recognize your friend’s voice on the phone, consistent communication allows customers to perceive yours, thereby facilitating brand recognition. Additionally, communicating in a way that upholds your mission, vision, and values will guarantee constant growth of your brand, according to Medium.

Maximizing your organic reach

Balanced assignment ensures that you are not publicizing too much of a particular type of content at the expense of another. To avoid such social media mistakes, Auburn Advertising advises that you create a posting schedule and follow it for all your media channels. In agency settings, these schedules are also called content, or editorial, calendars. Once you find this balance, be consistent when sharing these posts. This aspect of strategic posting and sharing maximizes the number of people you reach without having to pay for advertisements.

Reinforcing your brand

Posts that are too long or too short can be aesthetically and visually unappealing, and the same applies to hashtags. While they are an excellent way to join trending topics, too many can become cluttered and irritating, thus ineffective, according to Inc. Similarly, most people tend to be visually cautious. This will create coordination and uniformity in your presence, thereby facilitating brand recognition.

When nurtured, these features will bring out distinct selling points and your core brand values. In that line, your brand’s social media presence dictates how you perform and grow. Additionally, consistency in your posts will minimize chances of bias customization and interpretation by consumers.
